Social Aspects of Knowledge in Moral Education

Dr. Said Ismail Ali

The different forms and fields of knowledge are like a living being. They exist, grow and develop. In their growth and development, they must prove their efficiency and vindicate their function in facing changes and challenges which continuously take place in our world.

If we choose knowledge as one of the educational issues, it is because all philosophical schools in education agree on the importance of thinking and the role of the school in its development.

Islam has given due importance to the social dimension. No one can deny the great care of Islam for the individual and his refinement. But if Islam believes in the individual, it does not believe in individualism. While believing in the individual, Islam believes in an existing reality, and while it rejects individualism, it wishes to save the individual from its consequences. If we deeply look into the principles of faith in Islam, into mandatory religious observances and the rules of transactions, we will see the social outlook and orientation.
